I'm using my HP2711x as a second monitor for my Acer all-in-one and it just stopped working. I connected to an older HP Touchsmart to troubleshoot and it worked fine. Then when I went to plug it back into my Acer it does not recognize the second monitor anymore. I am using a straight HDMI connection. I've been looking for a driver for it and all I can find is the MyHP app that doesnt do anything to recognize my monitor. (Windows 10 home edition)

I would suspect either the connector or the cord has failed. If not that, then the video out has been disabled. It could just be asetting on the Acer. Right click on an empty part of the desktop and then pick "Display settings". A representation of the monitor with a "1" inside. Directly under that is "Identify" and "Detect" press detect to see if the second monitor is now shown.

thnak you for your reply. I have tried 3 different HDMI cords now and I have also tried clicking on my display settings. ive tried installing another display adapter in device manager, tried updateing the drivers for generic monitor, now I have even tried a clean install of windows 10. Still no 2nd display. Can anyone help me further please?

I suppose it could be the monitor failed. Especially if the Windows reinstall did not cure the problem. You did try this "troubled HP" monitor on another device. correct? and it worked then and now it does not?
