I went to the link for the removal in the fix it section and I click the button and it does nothing, I tried to even go to hp itself and it does the same thing, it won't allow me to download the fix it.  Is there something preventing the download and can I disable or uninstall manually, if so how?

I've just been asked to comment about the reply - it's so long ago iI don't remember what happened! I haven't had the problem lately so maybe I did what was suggested and reading the solution given here, I shall keep it for future ref. Thanks.

DavidPK, per your 11/15/2012 post re HPSF.exe has stopped working, will the 2 tutorials in your post also work for year 2015?

I received "HPSF.exe has stopped working.  This application has encountered a serious problem and must 'close'.  Click 'OK'  to automatically restart this application."  I tried the click 'OK' several times, but it didn't work.  Oh, i forogt, also received the following comment "sp63425.exe is corrupt or invalid."

Also, if i can use these 2 tutorials for 2015 that you have attached, will I lose all my information that is on the HP Support System?  I have all my Microsoft updates listed in HP Support System.

I'm completely confused about what even caused this problem the other day.  I did a complete scan of my PC with Norton 360 but it didn't fix the problem.

Will either of these 2 tutorials also include other instructions within them on certain areas that would need me to view other tutorials?

I really would apprecate your help.

My PC is HP Pavilion 17 Notebook purchased in December 2013.
