You can only use a socket "S1" CPU in your system. The factory list of CPUs seem to have a system bus speed of 3600MHz, 32 or 35 watts, and 65nm SOI Process Technology. All the other CPUs appear to have a 4000 MHz SBS and use a 45nm process. The "N" and "P" mobile Phenom II CPUs look like only dual and maybe triple core... no quad or hexa. To be safe, I would say you are locked into the HP listed CPUs.

 

And YES, you can install a Windows 64bit OS on your computer but you can't "upgrade" as Windows doesn't support a 32bit to 64bit upgrade path. This means you must do a "clean" install of Windows 64bit which will erase the previously install version.

32 bit operating system
