HP Pavilion All-in-One - 23-g2

I spilled a sugary drink on my HP Pavilion All-in-One - 23-g219 keyboard. Now it's sticky and hard to type on. How should I clean it? Is it safe to take out the keys?

Sorry, but I don't have experience with that specific keyboard, but in general, the safest way to clean a keyboard (presuming you don't want to take it apart) is using a swab with alcohol to remove the material from the keys -- as shown in this thread:  http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Wireless-Elite-v2-Keyboard/3707817/model/5125146/document/c03...

As to removing the keys, that varies greatly by the model keyboard.  Some come off easily and simply press back on.  Others are held down by complex plastic hinges which (1) break easily, and (2) are nearly impossible to reset once the key is removed.

A method I have used that works is the following:

1) turn over the keyboard and remove the screws holding it together

2) separate the top and bottom of the kayboard case

3) remove any circuit panels and liners

4) wash the keys part with hot soapy water

5) use a hair dryer on lowest heat setting to blow the water off the key assembly

6) set the key assembly aside to dry overnight

7) next day, visually inspect the key assembly to confirm there is no water remaining

😎 reassemble the keyboard case

Good Luck
