Hi Everyone.
Does anyone know how to disable the onboard network card on a HP Compaq dc5800 or HP Pro 6000/6200 ?
I have looked in the BIOS and there is nothing there.
We have a very old DOS system that only runs on a certain model of 3COM network card.
When we run the software now it defaults to the onboard card.
Any help will greatly be appreciated.
Regards
Ryan

Hi:
The only suggestion I can offer would be to look in the security menu>device security, and see if the ethernet controller is amongst the list of devices you can disable.
The dc5800 F10 setup guide indicates that this setting is available on some models.

I just booted up my dc7800 sitting next to me, and went into the BIOS' device security menu, and there is a security setting to disable the network controller. Right now, it shows the device is available.
