I have recently purchased an HP TouchSmart 610 PC for my office and I am trying to install a stand that attaches to the wall. I am having some trouble getting the tilt stand removed. Any suggestions would be helpful, a how-to guide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Here's a procedure for removing the stand:
Good luck.

FYI - after several hours surfing the web and a couple of calls to HP, i was told by parts that the 610 did not require a mounting kit and could be mounted as-is but they didn't know how. Then I was told by Tech Support that the 610 could not be wall mounted (even though the box clearly states that it can). I pressed them for a document, white paper, tech article, SOMETHING that showed how this was supposed to be done, and they couldn't find ANYTHING.
That's right, HP doesn't know how to wall mount their own product. If this forum is monitored/moderated, I hope someone takes this as an Action Item! It was very frustrating.
Then, as I had the unit laying flat trying to remove the rear cover, I happen to notice that the bottom of the stand looked like a VESA mount compatible plate. Turn it upside down and take a look. That's how it's mounted!!

Hey everyone. I know this post is almost a month old, but I figured out the correct way to wall mount one of these Touchsmart 610's.
1. If you look at the bottom surface of the tilt stand, you will see what cyberlopez6 described as a VESA mount compatible plate. This is a removable wall plate. Disconnect this plate by removing the 4 torx/flathead screws.
2. Next, after using a small flathead screwdriver to gently remove the plastic shroud around the back surface of the tilt stand, you will see 2 small philips screws that feel spring-loaded when you touch them. Tighten these screws down all the way and slide the tilt stand upwards until you feel it lock into place about halfway up the back of the computer.
3. Now you can remove the 4 torx/flathead screws that are holding the tilt stand on. Then use the same 4 screws to mount the wall plate which was removed from the bottom of the system.
There you have it! You're ready to mount this bad boy on the wall. Enjoy!

Ok so we have attempted to screw the mounting plate onto the back as suggested above however we could only screw in the top two screws. The plate doesn't actually sit flush onto the rails because of the shape...still seems very secure though.
And the back area is accessible.
