@Melaneo

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have an HP Pavilion All-in-One - 22-a014 PC and the DVD writer stopped working and displays an error code 32. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.

I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

  • Have you tried to burn the disks using multiple applications and using a different disk?
  • Is the DVD drive able to read disks?
  • Did any changes take place on the PC after which the DVD drive may have stopped working?
  • In Device Manager, does it show any error for the DVD drive?

Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Use this link to perform a firmware update on the DVD drive: http://hp.care/2lQNXsO
  • Restart the PC post the firmware update.
  • If the issue persists then I suggest you to perform the steps as described in detail from this link: http://hp.care/2lQTAar

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Let me know the outcome. Cheers! 🙂

Taking you at your word, it's time to go back to BestBuy, with $30 US, and buy either:

Asus - 48x Write/24x Rewrite/48x Read CD - 24x Write DVD Internal DVD-Writer Drive
Model: DRW-24B3ST
SKU: 5109832

or:

LG - Super-Multi 24x Internal DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive - Black
Model: GH24NSB0
SKU: 2691169

to replace your ELEVEN-YEAR-OLD hardware.

That will solve your problem.

Mr. MKazi In Device Manager shows error #32, with a symbol,  everything related to the dvdram gubon is gone, I have not use it for a while but I saw in properties that in October 2016 it was gone. In March 5, 2017 I tried to install my old program for my Sony camera  HDR-SR5 and is when I saw that the dvdram gubon was not working and then I went to Sony site and try to download a new version for the Sony camera to be able to download my movies and make DVD"s for Windows 10 64 bit and still could not make the dvdram work. I need help. Thanks. Melaneo

Is the optical drive in your "All-In-One" computer a 'GUB0N' (gee-you-bee-zero-en) ultra-slim DVD writer, made by LG?

If so, see: https://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-Internal-Writer-GUB0N/dp/B00ODDFTU6

for "LG Electronics Internal DVD Writer Drive GUB0N" for a replacement.

Under $30 (before shipping) will solve your "hardware" problem.
