What did you do? Install XP ? Reinstall your OS? Model number?

Is it a notebook or a desktop ??

You can use the Product number on the PC(7 characters) to search for drivers on the HP support and Drivers page. I would recoomend that you download all drivers except the most apparent ones. So dont download the graphics, or the network cards. Looks to me to be a webcam.

Are you connecting a webcam to ur comp?? is it on your monitor or embedded??

In any case you have installed XP on a unit which came with Vista. Some problems will come up. I would suggest going back to vista and tweaking it...

There is a really good site to help you make Vista faster and this is what i do. http://www.tweakhound.com/vista/tweakguide/index.htm

It takes some time but with your unit config it should work gr8 with some really basic tweaks. Also i believe that did customize this PC when you ordered it. So if you have around 2gig of ram it will work really well with vista. the graphic card is decent as well.

I Googled for the "CIF Single Chip driver".  Consensus was that it indicated a WebCam of some sort.  Look for the manufacturer name of your WebCam and go to their website for the driver.

Here is the best driver and software for your HP AVC0101LA 0.1 MP Effective Pixels 30 fps USB WebCam

I have tested and installed the related software by Arc Software and it even includes the driver software for the webcam.

I have Windows 8, and works flawlessly, I have not tried it on Windows 8.1 as of yet.

Here is the link:

Click the "Specifications Tab" and the driver is located there.
