HP Z230 workstation
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I have a legacy application that ran fine and still runs fine on a win7 32bit machine that does not have hyperthreading.

So I need to turn it off on my current PC.

I cannot get into a bios screen that has any processor settings.

Upon boot up I have pressed all the Fkeys, so 12 Fkeys, 12 reboots with no success.

Is there a solution???

Thanks

Emp1953, welcome to the forum.

You should begin tapping either the Esc or F10 key every 1 to 3 seconds when the computer begins to boot.  This should get you into the BIOS settings.

I am familiar with Dell, and their BIOS

What I get when I follow your steps does not look like a bios screen that I am used to seeing.   It says HP set up on the top.  There are NO selections for processor.   I went through each selection and found nothing.    Is it the HP interface to the BIOS that is poor?

I will be very honest with you, I am not very familiar with business computers; especially the BIOS.  However, it would be helpful if you could post a picture of what you are seeing.  You may be able to use Windows' Snipping Tool.

These startup screens are prior to windows startup so I don't have any means to do a screen capture.

Thank you for the additional information.

I checked my UEFI settings to see where Hyper-threading is shown.  It is in the Advanced tab under System Options.  I know that HP limits the amount of options that are available to make less problems for their Customer Support and customers.

There is no system options tab available to me.

Thank you for the additional information.

From all that you have mentioned, it doesn't appear that there is an option to disable Hyper-threading.  As I said, HP keeps the options to a minimum.
