Installed Windows 7 ultimate x64 on a h8-1417c with a IPMMB-FM motherboard. Can't find drivers for the bluetooth controller {which isnt a huge deal} and the USB 3.0 controller. I have tried multiple drivers to no avail. Cant find what specific USB3.0 controller the motherboard has which might help find the right driver. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
Ah you got caught downgrading to a PC that was certified for Windows 8 and not Windows 7.
Look here for drivers from another HP PC with the same motherboard.

Hi,
Strongly consider adding a separate hard drive for Windows 7 and unplug the Windows 8 hard drive when installing Windows 7.
You need to disable secure boot in the bios and switch to legacy mode while Windows 8 is running. The unplug the Windows 8 drive.

i figured out the secure boot fairly quickly and the Windows 7 install is on a seperate HDD.
The driver for the USB controller worked like a charm. Much appreciated.
The driver for the bluetooth gave an error 9996, system does not meet minimum requirements.I think that the wireless chip and bluetooth are combined. Any ideas?

Hi,
9996 error? Installer errors normally occur when trying to install the update under the wrong operating system or the hardware is not detected by Windows.
Did you order your PC with Bluetooth as it is an optional feature? Was it working with Windows 8? You should be able to use Windows 8 to find out if Windows 8 had discovered the device.
Look in Device Manager and see if you have any device driver error conditions.
If you did order Bluetooth and there are no device driver error conditions, then open your PC back up and make sure that the wireless card is seated all the way into socket. It not likely that HP shipped the PC without fastening the wireless card down. Perhaps it got jarred when you were installing the second hard drive.

I'll check to see if it is working on Windows 8 but I won't be physically near the computer til Friday night.
