Hi I'm refurberishing a hp pavilion desktop 6150nl for a dear friend of mine. The machine is running with a 5.07 bios and I see some mistakes in this bios version. Wrong order of the four sata ports for instance. The hp website tells me that there is a 6.09 and a 6.07 update for motheboard Ipiel-la3 and presents downloads sp46434 (version 6.07) and sp56794 (6.09). After starting both update files they finally block at the real process by saying incorrect bios your system (253). I hope any body knows the right solution for this and thanks for answering !!

The complete info in the motherboard is

IPIEL-LA3 rev 1.01

Here are the original specs for the HP Pavilion p6150nl Desktop Computer. There are multiple revisions / version of the IPIEL-LA3 (Eureka3) motherboard. Please use the BIOS update provided in the Windows Vista 64-bit section of the HP Pavilion p6150nl Desktop PC Drivers & Downloads page. This update looks like it is actually a downgrade from v5.07 to v5.05 and you may not wish to install it.

You can't use a v6.xx BIOS on a computer that has a v5.xxx BIOS. The BIOSes aren't the same and are designed for different motherboards that are different versions or revisions.
