HP Elite 800
Windows XP

Hi,

Happy new year to all!

I'm looking for some drivers, like the LAN one for my Elite 800 on Win XP 32bit : PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_153A

I have no choice of the OS...

Where can I find it and how install it?

Thank you!

Dahlia

Hi:

I would use this file.  DL but don't run it.

http://h20566.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=5404560&swItemId=vc_116115_1&swEnvOid=405...

Then download and install this free file utility.

http://www.7-zip.org/

After you install 7-zip right click on the network driver file and select 7-zip from the menu.  Have 7-zip Extract to: and let it extract the files to the folder name for easy identification.

Once you do that, you will see a Driver folder and the next folder below that E1D, then open that and find WIN7-32.

So, from the update driver prompt manually browse to: the folder 7-zip created\E1D\WIN7-32\E1D6232 and select the Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I217-LM from the list and see if the driver installs.

The folder labeled E1C only has XP drivers for the older ethernet adapters (I already looked).

Hi:

There is no XP driver support for the ethernet adapter in your PC.  Not even from Intel.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your answer.

Isn't there any way to get a Vista driver or another XP driver for lower model but same network board?

I don't think that this device is not used on older HP computers, what do you think?

On pcidatabse.com I found this chip description : Intel I217-LM Ethernet Connection but when I want to install it, it doesn't work. Maybe I install by the wrong way...

Thank you and have a nice day.

You're very welcome, Dahlia.

That is correct.

Your model has the Intel I217-LM Ethernet adapter, and the oldest drivers available for that device are for W7.

You can try manually installing the W7 driver but I doubt it will work.

There are no graphics drivers (for the onboard Intel graphics) or USB3 drivers either.

Hi Paul !

As you said, I tried to install the W7 driver.

I downloaded theses files :

  • sp65937.exe
  • sp68473.exe

founded by searching drivers for Elite 800 on W7 32bits pro.

Unfortunalety, the program only unzip the files in c:\swsetup without installing them.

So, I tried to install the drivers automatically, but on XP, I have to check the folders one by one (whereas on 7, Windows can search in sub-folders too).

In which folders I could find the driver ?

Where can I find the same driver but for Vista or XP ? I think they do exist as the adapter is certainly installed on older HP computers.

Can I find them on the Intel download center ?

Thank you very much !
