DesktopMini 400 G2
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Received this PC with Windows 7 Professional.  Trying to reload the PC with our version of Windows 7 Enterprise.  When the PC comes up it goes to the Windows setup screen but the mouse and keyboard do not work.  Is there a setting some where in the Bios that will let the keyboard and mouse work so I can finish setting up this PC?

Hi:

You have to use this tool to put the USB 3 drivers into your W7 installation flash drive.

There is a readme link with instructions for how to use the tool.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25476/Windows-7-USB-3-0-Creator-Utility

The problem is due to:

The Skylake chipset does not have native support for USB2, so the USB 2 ports don't work until the chipset driver is installed.

The W7 installation media does not have the required USB3 drivers for the USB 3 ports to work.

I have an image in Acronis of our current WIndows 7 Ent that has all of the current Windows updates on it.  Is there a way that I can install this image on a computer and load the drivers for this HP 400 G2?  If I can do that then I can make a new image and install it on the HP 400 G2.

You might be able to do that.

I wouldn't know for sure.

What I know for sure is that if you do what I posted above, you will be able to install W7.
