Hello everyone,

 

The motherboard on my HP Pavilion P6210f series desktop started showing signs of a failing hard drive, so I tried plugging it into another pc, and it worked fine. After doing some research it turned out to be the sata ports going bad. I decided to replace the board, and am confused as what version to replace it with, mines P/N: 513430-002 REV C02, and theres also another version: REV CO1 on ebay, would it be ok to replace it with that one or do I need the REV C02 version? Any suggestions wold be helpful, thanks! s-l16004.jpg

It is not the Sata ports.  It is the controller chip (soldered on the board. The issue spread across many HP models, all with that board,  being reported as far back as 2009. See here.  Especially pg 2.

Everything runs through that NVIDIA chip. SATA, the onboard video, everything.

You must purchase the same model board. A revision update should be OK.  Some never had a problem.
