Keyboard model 5189 does not work correctly in windows 7, tried to install different version driver i.e. Vista driver, but get an error

Tbagent:  I know this is a rather old thread, but did you ever manage to solve this problem?

 

I am also experiencing some problems with that keyboard and Win 7. Here is my problem which I think may be fairly widespread:

Hi,

 

Sorry it took me awhile to get back. I found the driver for the keyboard by searching the model number of my computer. I initially had troubles getting it to work, I did get it to work by running the install in compatibility mode for Windows Vista (Sevice Pak 2).

 

If I remember correctly I set all *.exe fills to run in compatibility mode. To set a file to compatibility mode, right click the file, properties, compatiblilty tap, Run this program in compatibility mode. also check run this program as an Administrator.

 

The Driver is (Device Manager shows as) HP Enhanced Multimedia PS/2 Keyboard, Version 1.0.7.3
