Don't be sorry! Free was never the issue, the issue was the time taken trying to track down a working driver for this sucker, HP has a bit of a reputation in that dept. I knew what I was getting into but I went with HP anyway because of it's dependability. BTW, a USB sound dongle works great as a solution for missing onboard sound, also a great solution to quickly add a headset to any comp without front-panel audio jacks, and at around $10 is real cheap 🙂 Have a great day now eh!

I have read about some folks using one of those USB sound devices to overcome not being able to get the onboard audio to work.
