EliteDesk 800 G2 Mini
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hello,

I'm trying install Windows 7 Professional on EliteDesk 800 G2 Mini to remove the factory installed Win7 64 bit.

I need the 32 bit for some enterprise software issue.

I'm trying with Microsoft DVD, the setup starts but immediatly mouse and keyboard don't work anymore.

Could you send me a link to download restore DVDs with W7 32 bit?

I have 4 PCs in the same situation...

Thanx in advance

Mino

Hello Mino_FV ;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

I read your post about needing restore media and wanted to help.

What will work is restoring your machine to its original factory condition using HP Recovery Media.  This is a set of DVDs and a CD that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, settings, and applications, reinstall the original OS, drivers, and some HP Utilities.  HP does NOT make Recovery Media available for download.

You can look online for Recovery Media starting with the linked paged: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, input your Product name or number. On your Software and Drivers Download page, select your Operating System and and Version. Click "Update".  If HP Recovery Media is available for your machine, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for Order Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click the "+" symbol to expand that entty and click on Order Media for details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

Note that if HP no longer provides Recovery Media for your model, a couple of other sites you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/  and http://www.restoredisks.com/

Be sure to read through the material in the linked thread BEFORE you attempt the recovery:  http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00707939

Good Luck

I have serarched in all the link you suggested but nothing about EliteDesk 800 G2.

Also the setup of Winodws 7 64 bit freeze at the "select language" screen...

Could be the problem of USB 3.0 compatibility?

How I could disable USB 3.0 to 2.0? In BIOS I didn't find it

Without having access to the PC, I only have to guess -- but it likely IS a problem using USB 3 with Win7.

My desktop motherboard has USB 3.0 ports -- but to get them working properly, I had to install Sony Renesas drivers -- which I got from station-drivers.  The ones installed with Win7 did not work properly.

That could be your problem, and if that's the case, do you have USB 2 ports on the PC?

Good Luck

This PC has only USB 3.0 ports... :indifferent:

I called hp support and they sent me recovery kit at 32 bit.

I'm trying but I'm not very happy: on the DVD, is reported that is for 800 G1(and I have G2).....

Ok.

I resolved with the recovery disk received+driver downloaded from HP support site

Hi Mino_FV,
I'm having the same issue getting the keyboard/mouse to work in both Windows 7 setup and after entering PXE boot for the HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Mini. What was the name of the driver you downloaded and used from HPs site to get it to work? What method did you use to detect and use the driver during Windows setup?

I resolved only with the setup CDROM received from the HP support...
