I have a wireless keyboard, 5189URF, but I cannot find the receiver that goes with it.  It operates on 2.4Ghz apparently.  Is there a replacement receiver that can be purchased for this keyboard, or do I have to throw it away and purchase a whole new keyboard if I want one that works?  I would think these things would be pretty standard and easy to replace, but I can't find much info on the internet or the HP support site about it.

Thanks!

I would try HP Partsurfer to see if HP still has it available.  If not, I am not certain where you would find one.  I am in the same situation.  I have a wireless mouse that I misplaced the receiver.  I don't believe I will be able to buy one.

Thanks for the tip, I actually had already tried that avenue and had no luck.  I was hoping that maybe there was some sort of standard with HP wireless accessories that you could get a generic 2.4Ghz wireless USB receiver and it would work for many of their products, but I guess not.  I guess I will throw away this otherwise perfectly good keyboard and replace it with a non-HP brand wireless keyboard.

Thanks anyway!

@sudz28

You are very welcome.

I have another Microsoft mouse exactly like the one with no receiver and the receiver for it will not work.  I presume this is the case with your keyboard.  So, it is just not HP that doesn't have a standard with all of their products.
