Hi,

the microphone does not work on my new PC. Went through the troubleshooting guide with no luck and tested with microsoft Sounds, microphone recorder and skype. The default microphone listed a realtek HD audio device on the MS sounds settings app. Thanks in advance.

Asif80, welcome to the forum.

You should go into the Control Panel / Sound / Recording and check to assure that you microphone is chosen as Default.  This is a common problem with Win 10.

Tried that already with no luck. Also enabled a a second device and played around with disabling the other. No luck at all. Read on Internet common problem with Realtek and win10. Suggested changing drivers from Realtek hd audio drivers to hd audio drivers but not listed as option for microfone in device setting

Thank you for the additional information.

Here is the Software and Driver Download page for the computer.  I suggest going into Driver-Audio and installing the update that is dated April 7, 2016.  It may be that it will solve your problem.  If not, you should contact HP Customer Support for help.  This should not be happening with a new computer.
