My new ENVY has the OS  WIn 7 installed on Drive C:  I ordered the system with a 16GB SSD.  How is this SSD drive supposed to show up when I use the Disk Management feature.  i see the C drive but the SSD drive showes up as unallocated .  Should it have a drive letter associated with it or ?

I appreciate any insight you may be able to give.

Thanks.

Hi,

Sounds like the Condusiv software is not active with the MSATA.  Did you see documentation in the Condusiv directory?

I am hoping that we don't have to run a diskpart clean function on that device but perhaps we need to start fresh. Even after clean another Condusiv command  (ECCmd -partition) needs to be performed and then a reboot.  At that point the Condusiv ECCmd -info command should work and show some caching statistics.

Hi,

Please post the HP product number for your PC. How to Find the HP Model Number and the HP Product Number or let HP automatically find your PC model number and HP network attached printers.

Since you have a new ENVY then you should be using the Condusiv ExpressCache software.

Is this software something that comes with the HP system?

I performed a quick system search and it did not come up with anything.

I just received this system a week or two ago and it appears that the SSD drive is showing up as unallocated space not assigned to any drive letter.

Hi,

Check for the software at this location.   C:\Program Files\Condusiv Technologies\ExpressCache

Do not assign a drive letter.  The caching software will find the SSD.

OK good call.  The software is there.  I click the ExpressCache (application file)  and allow the program to RUN but all i get is a very quick window... can't read what is is or does and still the drive shows up as unallocated.

Hi,

So far so good.  Open up the RUN window (admin) and enter the following:

cmd

CD C:\program files\Condusiv Technologies\ExpressCache\

ECCmd -info

You should see some caching statistics.

OK Changed directory to (i just cut and pasted your typed instructions)  then entered ECCmd -info and got the following

you dont have privledges to run this  (in so many words)

I am the administrator and am logged into my administrator account.
