Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have recently installed a 4 port USB 3 card and replaced my video card because it appreard to have failed.  Both PCI cards will function correctly for a period of time and then they quit working.  If I reseat the cards they begin to work again.  There was probably nothing wrong with video card I replaced.

How can I get these cards to remain seated?  It is annoying to have to manually reseat these cards a couple of times each month.

My guess: a cracked motherboard, that occasionally overheats, and causes problems.

Cooling-down the computer (by turning it off, removing the access panels, and reseating the cards) may give it enough time to return to normal temperatures.

So, next time that it happens, turn it off, and let it cool-down for an hour.  Boot it, and see if "time" has "fixed" it.
