Hi, I'm running a HP Z420, Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1620 V2 @ 3.70 GHZ.
Currently, I am having issues, my computer keeps restarting while playing dota/cs occasionally. I've checked memory and temperature, they both seems not to be of issue.
I find out that my PCI serial port (COM4) has no driver atm, and suspect it might be the root of the issue. Any help please? Thanks

Hi:
You probably need this driver for that device...
This package contains the Intel Local Management Service (LMS) and Serial-over-LAN (SOL) support for the Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) in supported workstation models that are running a supported operating system. This software is part of the Intel Digital Office Initiative.

Hi, I have downloaded it, but still,
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
May I ask if this driver is important and could it be the reason why its causing my comp to restart while playing games? Thanks!

Hi:
Try this one for the older hardware version...

Is it the cause for your PC to be restarting when playing video games? Highly unlikely.
The most probable cause for that would be a faulty memory module, IMO.
Could also be a bad capacitor on the motherboard as well, but less likely than a faulty memory module.
Carefully check the capacitors on the motherboard for any that are bulging at the top. The capacitors are those can-shaped objects.
Checking the memory will require patience. Here is how I would proceed with that...remove all modules but the one in the primary memory slot and play your video games.
If the PC shuts down and restarts, go through each memory module until hopefully you find the one that is causing the PC to crash, and replace it.
If none of the above fixes the issue, unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.

Hi, thanks for your help Paul, I think the older hardware version did helped my error.
Back to my comp restarting issue, i have this minidump crash info:
On Sun 14/05/2017 6:32:13 AM your computer crashed
crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\051417-16785-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: nvlddmkm.sys (nvlddmkm+0x14A884)
Bugcheck code: 0x116 (0xFFFFFA800CBD80B0, 0xFFFFF8801114D884, 0x0, 0x2)
Error: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR
file path: C:\Windows\system32\drivers\nvlddmkm.sys
product: NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 350.12
company: NVIDIA Corporation
description: NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 350.12
Bug check description: This indicates that an attempt to reset the display driver and recover from a timeout failed.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: nvlddmkm.sys (NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 350.12 , NVIDIA Corporation).
Google query: NVIDIA Corporation VIDEO_TDR_ERROR
P.S. Please take note that I rollback my drivers to an older date, as I tried updating to the latest drivers, but it seems like its not working. Any solution or help towards my issue would be much appreciated, thanks Paul and anyone who might be able to offer me good advice! 🙂
