Hi,
I am trying to move from an old motherboard (N-Alvorix-RS880-uATX (Alvorix)) to a new one (Asus M5A78L-M/USB3). The computer I have is an HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC, product number BV532AA. The exact problem is that my old motherboard, had a special 6 pin connector for its 2 LED lights and power switch. Now that I am trying to install this new Asus motherboard, the LED and power switch pin connectors don't match up. According to my manual they are more spread out:
What I need help with is identifying what cables in my computer connect to which pins on the system panel connector where the LEDs and power switch are supposed to be connected. I already tried to find the old Alvorix manual to idtentify them but its nonexistent online.
I have one each of red, white, blue, green, black, and yellow cables. I know for sure that two of these are for the PLED, two are for the IDE LED, and 2 are for the Power. How can I find out which of these is which? As soon as I can accurately identify these 6 cables I can use single pin connectors to hook them up and I should be happy 😄
