So i bought a new GPU (GeForce GTX 970) and the computer freezes on the hp startup thing (blue screen, hp symbol, you know the deal). After some INTENSIVE research i came to the conclusion that the problem probably resides in the mobo BIOS, which i would like to upgrade, even though pretty much everywhere i saw, this did not resolve the issue. However since the info i saw was somewhat old, maybe a new update was released.
The problem is I cant find it anywhere, so I was hoping some of you might know where i can download it. Btw, since my mobo is from circa 2011, do I have to put it in a CD and do the manual update or does it update automatically?
Thanks in advance

Your only recourse is to get another Graphic card. Your HP bios is ver/rev 7.16, and you'd need ver/rev 8. It is not available for the Chicago boards. What you need is a GPU without UEFI BIOS. That type of card is commonly called "Legacy". Without knowing your exact intentions, it's impossible to suggest a card. In any case, your not going to find an equivalent card to the FTX 970 performance, IMHO.
