Proliant DL306 G5
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (64-bit)

Buenas Noches

Gracias...

If you think that your "RAID 5" array is _NOT_ "hot-swappable", then do not try it!

1. Power-down the server.

2. Disconnect the AC power.

3. Identify & disconnect and remove the "bad" disk-drive.

4. Connect a new disk-drive (same size or larger).

5. Connect the AC power.

6. Turn the computer on, and look for "press <blah> to enter RAID setup".

7. Within RAID setup, you will need to "add" the new disk-drive into the RAID-5 set.

8. Then, you might be able to "rebuild" the array within this mode.

Or, you may be able to let Windows boot, and the RAID software that you installed will do the "rebuild" while Windows is running.

Good luck!

P.S. Do *NOT* try to take one disk from your other "RAID-0" set to add it into your "RAID-5" set.

With "RAID-0" each disk-drive contains only *PART* of each block of data.

[With "RAID-1", two disk-drives *EACH* contain *ALL* of each block of data.]
