The desktop randomly turned of and was unresponsive to a restart. I unplugged the power cord and replugged it in to get a green light. Once I hit the power button, the light turned off. The desktop is about a week old.

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,
Riddle_Decipher is at your service.
As I Understand there's random desktop shutdown & Green led on until the power button is used,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Did you perform a hard reset?
Did you notice an interruption of any recent updates that could have caused this issue?
While you respond to that, here's a few more things you can do:
The best way to do that is using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:
Click here to access it (simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).
CLICK HERE FOR MORE STEPS AND INSTRUCTIONS.
Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,
It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.
