Hi there,
I am experiencing very slow transfer speeds with my new HP 27-N010A between my PC and my NAS. My much older PC is transferring around 78 MB/s whereas I'm only getting 11MB/s between my new PC.
I've updated the driver and checked that the Spped & Duplex is set to Auto Negotiation, according to my specs the controller is supposed to be 10/100/1000 - does anyone have any ideas?
cheers
Steve

Problem solved.
Had ethernet cable going from PC to Modem Router and not plugged directly into home network. While this caused no issue with previous PC with this configuration it obviously does with the new one.
Now getting speeds of over 100 mb/s and the world is a better place.
Thanks for trying to help
cheers

Hi Steve,
Throughput will vary depending on data object size. Do your measurements using large data objects. 78 MB/s may be about right for a 1 Gbps adapter. Adapter efficiency can vary by manufacturer.
If the NAS box is on a network, then silence the other devices during testing.
Go to Settings ---> Network and Internet --->Change adapter options ---> "your LAN adapter" ---> Ethernet and check your connection settings. You should be able to verify the connection speed. See the below image.
Does your Realtek Ethernet adapter have a Link Speed selection option? See the below Intel example.

Hi Dave, thanks for taking the time to answer. My ethernet status is:
and I tried setting the card to 1 GB/s Full Duplex but still got the same speed. The file I used for testing was the same one for both PCs. My older touchsmart running W10 but 5-6 years old cranked at the 78 mb/s but the shiny new one limped along at 11Mb/s.
Very frustrating!

Hi,
"Frustration" is a common word and situation for many that visit forum.
Did your PC come with Windows 10 or did you upgrade to Windows 10 and then discovered the issue?
Did you use the latest driver that is posted for your PC?
Try booting up in safe mode and remeasure. If wireless is enabled, you might want to disable it while testing.
Thanks for posting on the forum.
