This wireless adapter is extremely slow that causes high ping during game play. The game i tried out was league of legends. The artheros adapter showed the ping to be 1000+ ms.
So i decided to see if the driver needed updating. When going through device manager to update it, it showed that it needed no update. Also checked on the hp website and it showed that i have the latest driver. So then i checked the Atheros website and i didnt have the latest driver. So i intalled the lastest driver to 10.0.0.270 from 10.0.0.263.
Again i tried out the game to see if there was an improvement with the internet connection and it again showed my ping to be 1000+ ms. There was no change at all. No improvement.
I had done troubleshoot and it sorted something out i dont know what though. No change.
I also have changed the powersaver to maximum for the wireless adapter. No change.
On several occasion i looked at task manager-network it shows sending and recieving to be at 8-16-32 Kbps or sometimes even zero Kbps. The chart looks very small and its top value on the chart was 100Kbps.
However, I dont see a difference during youtube videos or browsing the interenet. The speed here is fine. Even during speedtest the speed showed a ping of 43ms. send/ recieve packets are shown in 00'sKbps to Mbps. The chart is not stable it flucatuates sharply.
So i change my wireless adapter to a blekin N300 and all the problems i had are solved. The ping when playing league of legends is at 40-70 ms. The send/ recieve packets rae similar to the atheros AR9485 but i seen it go up to 88Kbps at its highest.
So what can i do to fix the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 wireless adapter?
Any help is appreciated.
what else can i do?

Just an update to anyone else who has had this problem to change the wireless channel setting to channel 11 should do the trick.
