Pavillion w5209.se
Microsoft Windows XP

I'm still using my old Pavillion w5209 although it has Windows XP as OS. I have problems with a very slow WiFi. We have a 100 Mbit/s fiber connection to our house and I use a wireless router capable of at least 60 Mbit/s. For my desktop I have a TP-LINK Wireless USB adapter, capable of 150 Mbit/s plugged into a USB port. Checking the status of the connection it shows around 14 Mbit/s, however when making a real-time test I receive only 200 - 300 kbit/s (a real-time broad-band checking facility in Sweden called bredbandskollen). I am using Mozilla Firefox as the web browser. I have tried two different USB ports for the wireless adapter but it did not make any difference. Anyone haveing an idea of what to do to increase the speed?
