Hi, I'm running a HP p6335a desktop with Win 7. I have Microsoft office Small Business Edition 2003, HP version, which I wish to install. When i run setup, a window informs me that "It is not an HP machine, installatrion will now close." So, somehow, a HP version of Office won't install on a HP machine. I'm confused. Can anyone throw some light on the situation?

Hi @wanafli,

I see from the post that you are having issues installing Microsoft Office on your HP PC. Don't worry I'll try my best to help you with this,
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Have you made any software or hardware changes on the PC before the issue started?
Have you installed this Microsoft Office on a different PC?
After reviewing your post, I understand there could be a possibility that you have installed a copy of Microsoft office on another computer or if you have replaced system board on this PC, this could be the reason why you are not able to install this program on this PC.
If the issue persists, I would personally suggest you contact Microsoft tech support for further assistance.
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.

Thanks for the response.
There haven't been any changes on the PC concerned, and this is my first attempt at installing Office on it. I'm wondering if the version of Office I are trying to install, is an OEM one for H-P.

Hi @ wanafli,
Thank you for replying,
I appreciate your time and efforts,
As I understand you are having issues installing Microsoft Office on your HP PC. Do you get any error message or any error code while installing,
Have you checked if this is already been installed on the PC? Launch Control Panel - Programs and Features - please check if this is listed or not.
How are you trying to install? Is it from a Disc
As I understand you are trying to install Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003, and I don't think this copy came with this PC. I would suggest you contact Microsoft tech support for further assistance.
I hope this answers your question, let me know if you need any further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help.

Just where did you obtain this version of MS Office. Although HP indeed had a version called "HP Microsoft® Office Small Business Edition 2003", there is a disclaimer that "It can not be used with HP Pavilion / HP Presario series". See link.
Nice catch. Wondering if the verison was a CD for another unit.
