Testing a new system, purchased or custom built, for hardware failures is advisable. Avoid support issues at, or subsequent to warranty expiration.
Why is this so? Testing will expose mainboard, graphics, ram, CPU, or driver problems. Hardware issues may not appear until the warranty period has expired. Anecdotal experience indicates components fail early or yield sustainable reliability for the estimated life of the component. Stress test to verify reliabilty.
Google or Bing "computer stress tests" and try options available. There are free and commercial solutions available to accomplish this. It is up to you to determine what solution is right for you. Do it and you will not regret it!
Buyer beware!!

Hello jaco1x4.
This is very helpful advice and there is a "stress test" built into most consumer notebooks made by HP. It is called the "Run In" test and it will continue to test your machine until you either make it stop or it fails. This document has more information. The relevant section is at the bottom and is named "HP System Diagnostics."
Have a great day!
EDIT: Here is the same document but for HP Desktop PCs.
Please click the white star under my name to give me Kudos as a way to say "Thanks!"
Click the "Accept as Solution" button if I resolve your issue.
