Hi,
I have an HP Envy 23-d060qd, Product No: C1A83AV#ABA, currently running Windows 8.1 (64 bit); included in the sysem is a Texas Instruments USB 3.0 xHCI Host Controller, currently using v1.0.0.5, dated 2/16/2015, as the driver for this device.
I have issues that I need help with desparately:
- First, there is a chronic problem with this device. After a while (the time frame varies wildly), the device disconnects and the following appears under the General tab of Properties: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". The only tenable solution I have come up with is to search for new hardward a few times and then restart the computer. What do I have to do to fix this problem once and for all?
- I want to upgrade to Windows 10 (64 bit) soon and would like to know what driver I should use and where I can download it?
Appreciate your assistance
Thank you very much

Hi,
If you are experiencing a chronic problem with the device then you might have a hardware issue. I suggest that you run a complete set of hardware diagnostics to make sure that the hardware is stable. I suggest that you install the latest diagnostics and run the diagnostic from the BIOS UEFI menu.
Loop the diagnostics for an hour. If OK, then boot up and update the Intel chipset, reboot and then update the MEI driver.
Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 supply the USB 3 drivers from the manufacturer and hence the reason why HP doesn't post USB 3 drivers. While TI may have updated its drivers, you would need to identify the hardware IDs to ensure that you download the correct driver from TI assuming that a later version is even posted by TI.
