I need help getting the color back to one I can see. My daughter changed it and now she can't see. It's black so you can't see anything. I don't know how to change it back and you can't see to change it. Thank you in advance. Terri2003

Hello @Terri2003

Welcome to the HP Support forum. Thank you for posting.

If your daugther changed the colors in the monitor, I cannot help much but if the colod was changed in Windows, you can easily revert the unwanted change by using System Restore.

How to use it - Win 10 and 8 >> https://support.hp.com/rs-en/document/c03327545

Win 7 >> https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01867418

System Restore can help you revert any unwanted change without affecting personal files. Restore back to a restore point before the unwanted change has been performed.

Welcome to this forum.

Do you have access to another computer running the same version of Windows?

If so, then place them side-by-side, and do identical "clicks" on both computers.

For example, with Windows 7, on both computers, move the mouse-pointer "up" and "right" a long way, and "click" there, if you think that there is no invisible "icon" at that location on the Windows wallpaper.

Then, look at the bottom-right of your keyboard: (space bar) (ALT) (Windows flag) (CONTEXT menu) (CTRL).

Touch that CONTEXT key.  A menu will open at the "top-left" of each screen.

In this menu, note that one letter of each menu-item will be underlined, e.g.,

    Personalize

Touch that 'r' key, on both computers, to begin the process of changing "themes" or "text-colour" or "background-colour".

On the window that opens, use the TAB keyboard character to move a "highlight" box from surrounding one item to the next item. When this "box" surrounds the icon that you want, press the ENTER key to select the item in the box.

And so on.

Good luck.
