Hello,

I work in an enterprise environment. We have set up users on HP t510 thin clients. They allow our users to connect to Vmware View sessions. When I connect a card scanner, the scanner initially lights up but it is not being recognized when I try to detect the scanner using the card scanner software.

I also experienced an issue with a usb headset. The audio was terrible but a regular mono headphone that plugs into the jack works perfectly fine.

I was wondering is there something wrong with the connectivity of the USB drives to the View session or are the USB drives just not powerful enough to get theses devices going.

Thanks in advance for any help!

VMware view uses RDP to connect to the session. So, Have you tried to use USB redirection using RDP protocol without VMware involved?

If this works, There's probably VMware View settings that needs to be tweaked (either server or client).

If regular RDP connection doesn't work well, try look at the settings on your windows server. Also try to update the RDP client to RDP 8.

My VMware session is using PCOIP. So I don't know if using that solution would help. The device is being recognized when I set the usb devices to work on VMWare rather than be local by way of the Administrator Control Panel on the Thin Client itself. But the Usb Headset that I am using will not push out sound. Even when I go to the Audio controls and set it as default it won't even display a test sound.
