ThinClient T520 Win10 IoT - enable user USB storage
03-16-2017 02:14 AM
Product: T520
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hi,
How can I enable USB storage devices for user account? I have tried enabeling all Mass storage drives from USB Port Manager, but that didn't seem to help.
USB storage Devices of course shows up when I log on as administrator.

You have to go right into where the administrator has been. Here is how. Go to Start > Run, type “regedit” and press enter to open the registry editor Navigate to the following key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\USBSTOR In the right pane, select Start and change the value to 3. (The value 4 will disable USB Storage). Click OK. This will re-enable USB Ports and allow you to use USB or Pen drives. Note : Disable write filter before making any changes Although I am an HP Employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
