Hi all,
I am trying to upgrade the BIOS version on a T610 thinclient running thinpro 5.2 and managed by HPDM 4.7 SP5.
I started creating a task to deploy the bios.bin file and execute the hptc-bios-flash command and install the updated bios.
The task deploys the files great but fails the bios upgrade, HPDM says command line error.
So....... I went to try and run the command locally on a machine, it also fails.
hptc-bios-flash -y /tmp/biosfilename.bin
executed locally from a terminal window on the thinpro device returns the following error:
Transferring system ROM......
Error: Cannot transfer this image!
Im not too sure where to go from here, I tried manually copying the bios.bin file and also downloaded a fresh copy and tried that. It does the same.
SP71296 is the HP SoftPaq number and K30_0120.bin is the BIOS file, this should be the one for a T610 thin client. I am trying an earlier BIOS version as a last resort until I get any kind or suggestion on here.
SP65515 is the earlier version. 1.18
******* UPDATE *********
I have tried the 2 earlier BIOS versions - 1.18 and 1.19 and they both do the same thing. I have tried chmod 777 /tmp/* and various combinations of sudo -i sudo su etc etc but no joy. Used fsunlock but makles no difference.
I have nearly 100 HP T610's in the estate and have tried this BIOS update on several of that machines and they all result in the same faliure.
Come on HP how can I upgrade my BIOS please?!
Thanks Tom.
