Hi,
I have an old HP Media Vault 5020 with a 750G mirrored disc, and had my drive #2 disc fail. I put a new one in, but it doesn't look like the new disk mirrored the old one. The band in the disc status for #1 disc shows green, and the message is mirrored, degraded. The Disk #2 band is black. I've looked through the user's manual and can't find anything on how to delete the backup file because it is from an old computer that I no longer use. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks!

Just an FYI - I do not know about using RAID - it would seem the RAID is expecting an empty drive, so it can rebuild the array. It sounds as though a drive with data on it was put in the array and the rebuild will not proceed. Is that assumption correct?
IMHO, using a different computer and wipe the drive, then reinstall in the array and try again.
I'm not an HP employee.
