Upgrade HP Envy Beats From HDD to SSD

I have an Envy Beats All-in-one PC running Windows 10 in 64 bit. Its always been a little slow so I would like to swap the 1TB 5400 HDD for one of the new SSDs and increase the DDR memory from 8gb to 16gb.

I think its DDR3 1600mhz but does the PC have a 2 or 4 memory slots on board, how are they occupued eg 2x4mb, I would like to know if I can buy another 2x4gb or will I have to buy 2x8gb. Would there be any benefit from using 2400mhz modules.

I havent looked inside the PC yet so I would also like to know if there will be space to keep the old HDD inside as an additional drive.

Whilst I used to upgrade PCs myself many years ago its sometime since I've done this and welcome some clear instructions and perhaps the easiest method.

The maximum ram supported is 16 GB on 2 memory module slots.

There is no SSD slot and that may not be supported unless you by an SDD to SATA converter. IF you install an SSD, the whole purpose would  be lost if you use the SSD to SATA adapter as the data transfer speed  of the SSD would be like a regular hard drive.

Late to the party but I just did this to my Envy 23 Touchsmart AIO d027, which I believe is similar to d030 and other Envy 23 models, just with some different spec.

I went with a Samsung 840 250GB SSD.  Put the SSD into an USB external case and plug into the Envy 23, then ran Samsung Data migration program.  It copied everything to the SSD, including the boot sectors, etc.

Then I took the SSD out and bought a ICYDock "MB882SP-1S-1B 2.5" to 3.5" SATA SSD / Hard Drive Converter" to convert it to a 3.5" drive with proper connector location.  Replace the stock 1TB noisy drive with this using the stock mounting bracket.  Boot right up into Windows 8 just like before, except amazingly fast.  It literally took 10 seconds.

This is IMO the best upgrade to this, or any computer!

In my PC you dont need the 2.5" to 3.5" SATA SSD converter as the original HDD is 2.5" so it fits straight in. Also make sure you switch off Anti virus and Firewall software when running the clooning software.

The difference is absolutely amazing, it now boots up in about 5 seconds and is up and running with all my apps in 20 seconds.
