What is Compaq Presario 6006EA max memory support? Motherboard is Microstar MS-6553 .
Second question: And does that motherboard support only 120gb hdd? If thats true, is there some way to get 500gb-1000gb hdd work?

Hee are the specifications for your Compaq 6006EA. It looks like 3 GB max. It also list HD sizes. Putting a larger HD in older PCs sometimes doesn't work as the bios and motherboard will not support it.
The Compaq 6006EA is a fairly old PC so it might not be worth the investment to upgrade it.

Hi,
I would like to upgrade memory of a Pavilion t328.it from 256MB to 1GB at least, 2GB will be better. Also for 1GB total memory, I see that 1x1GB memory module is cheaper than 2x512 modules.
The motherboard has 2 memory slots but the manual is not clear about the 1GB module support, and looking for motherboard specifications I found conflicting informations.
1GB modules are supported?
Thankyou,
MP
Here's some "Everest32" informations.

- Manufacturer HP Pavilion 061
- Product DT172A-ABZ t328.it
- Version 0eF0211RE101XENO410
- Serial number CZB3421DG9 IT340
Motherboard:
- Manufacturer MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD
- Product MS-6577

- Serial number 3A13197149
CPU:
- Intel Pentium 4A, 2600 MHz (26 x 100)

marco,
Your PC has a maximum of 2 GB and with only two memory slots you would need two 1 GB memory dimms.

I own an HP 6157c that came with 7 gb of RAM. The HP web site says with a 64-bit OS, I can have up to 16 gb of RAM, DDR-2, PC2 6400 (800 MHz). I have a M2N78-LA (Violet) motherboard. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit OS. I ran a scan using Crucial.com, and it shows I have 2 gb in 3 of 4 slots, and 1 gb in the remaining slot. It also says the maximum memory I can have is 16384 MB. It goes on to report that the maximum amount for any given slot is 2 gb.
I don't know how to analyze or resolve the disparity between what the hp web site says I can have for RAM, and the information from Crucial.com (which hp directs me to for figuring out how much RAM I can have). I'm interested in adding addition RAM up to the maximum, but don't know what that is.
I'd very much appreciate feedback from someone/those in the know. Thanks!

The product specifications for the p6157c indicate 16 GB max using 4 GB dimms. The same indicated by the motherboard specifications.

Hi Big_Dave.
Could you suggest me a working 1GB stick?
There are few web sites that show 1GB module for t328.it, and it is KTC-D320/1G (or DC341A)
Is KTC-D320/1G right for my system?
Thanks, Marco
