Thanks for answering so quickly Dave_G
Having read only the on line specifications for the CG5320F, I was under the impression that it supported 2x2GB DDR2 DIMMs but as per your previous post this is incorrect. I thought maybe it was limited to 2x2GB DIMMs if they were DDR2 but it might support more if you use DDR3. That's obviously wrong too. So max. memory, even with 64 bit OS is 4GB (2 x 2GB DDR3).
I didnt think of checking the "memory configurators" available on the memory companies' websites, that was a good idea !

I think they recommend using 2 chips of the same type and brand. If you go to the HP site
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01186076
You can probably navigate from there to find the detailed specs for your model

re mem upgrade to SR5210NX
My reading of HP's spec for this computer
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01151041
is that it will not accept a 2GB DIMM. Maximum allowed memory is 2 x 1GB DIMMs. Supposedly the optimum is to purchase a matched pair of 1GB DIMMs as this model has dual channel architecture

Kingston usually sell a product specifically manufactured and tested to be compatible with your model (so do the other major memory sellers). Use their memory finder programs to find which products they guarantee to be compatible with your PC.
The Kingston valueram products may work in your PC or they may not, I have never tested KVR in my Compaq, but you have no guarantee that they will work even if they are nominally the correct speed, timing, and voltage. This rnge of products have not been tested in any specific model of PC (though presumably they have been tested in a PC but Kingston aren't telling us which model). This memory is for system designers to cnfigure their own systems to fit the KVR, not such that the memory fits the system.
You can try it and see, your report may help others !

HP specification document is here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00679548
Neither Crucial, nor Kingston, nor Corsair supply a part specifically for this computer (using their memory finder programs; I don't if their scanner programs in which you allow them to scan the hardware in your PC remotely are more effective; I cannot, obviously, do this for you).
I have been in contact with Crucial and they have informed me that they guarantee that the memory they supply for SR1930T is compatible with with the SR1930IL model (http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Presario%20SR1930T&Cat=RAM). I advise contacting them prior to ordering to establish what the best way to order from India is (if you decide to do that)
There is a UK company, website www.mrmemory.co.uk that supplies "Guaranteed certified & compatible computer memory upgrades for your HP - Compaq Presario Desktop SR1930IL" - see http://www.mrmemory.co.uk/memory-ram-upgrades/model/HP+-+Compaq~Presario+Desktop~SR1930IL.
However this may or may not be convenient for you
I am not familiar with buying memory in India (which I assume is your location), but there must be DIMM manufacturers who are able to supply memory DIMMs which will are compatible with your PC
.
After those ideas I am reduced to the suggestion either to look at memory parts for other SR1930 variants and see if it's the same p/n (on Kingston, eg), and if so there's a good chance it will be the same for IL variant, or else just buy & try the generic (ValueRAM) memory of the same spec. You can always sell it if it doesn't work.

Memory Upgrade questions...
System was delivered with 3GB (1024MBx2+512MBx2) and WinXp/Vista/Win7 installs reported 3017MB installed.
OEM memory was DDR2/PC6400
All WinX memory reports are Win Task Manager-Physical Memory reports.
Note I have several OS disks built for this Pc.
I replaced all DIMMs with 2048MBx4 DIMMs and the BIOS correctly reports DIMS are installed and recognized.
New memory was all new Corsair DDR2/PC6400
With same OS boot images as before WinXP(x32)/Vista(x32)/Win7(64) still all report 3017MB phy ram available. (???)
The WinXP and Vista (x32) images should be reporting 4096MB Phy and the Win7Pro(x64) should report 8096MB Phy available.
Boots of RedHat5.5(x64) and SUSE10(x64) report 8GB installed and available with no issues.
The Linux boot images were built with the 8GB of ram installed...
Under these Linux installs I have written progs to access and 5-7GB to prove the memory is really there.
The system lets me write to normal system ram with no issues.
Any ideas of why the Microsoft OS's do not report more memory available ?
Is there a register setting to force Windows to reset this value ?
I have not yet tried to do a new Win7Pro install with the new mem installed - Worth a try ?
