Product: HP 280 G2 MT
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I brought 5 hp desktop pc's and installed windows 10 and one  8.1 OS  but i want to change 8.1 activation key to another pc when i tried to activate it showing product key is wrong.

So i Formatted windows 8.1 product key activated pc and reinstall windows 10 it will work for windows 10 key

Same process i will try for windows 8.1 OS but it showing WRONG key how to solve

Hi,

 

You have 4 Windows 10 machines and 1 Windows 8.1 machine. Please ONLY use Windows 8.1 key on Windows 8.1 machine, you can't mix them.

I wrongly installed windows 8.1  in one of my pc so formatted 8.1 OS and installed 10 in that pc it is activated  so i want to install windows 8.1 in new machine with already activated windows 8.1 key just like transfer (OEM PACK)plz help me how to activate windows key

Hi,

 

It should activate automatically unless you installed a wrong version of Windows 8.1.  Do you know the key ? Otherwise please use the following tool to get it:

   http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

When run this tool, it produces a report, scroll down to Software Management section. Windows 8, 8.1 or 10  product key is in there.

You can also use the following tool to find out:

  https://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/
