Hello,
I have recenty reset the password on an HP Z400 workstation following the instructions on the manual.
However when i enter the BIOS its asking me to "Enter Setup Password"
What is the default Setup Password?
It allows me to enter it 3 times (any random password) and after it takes me to the BIOS setting. However i can only view the settings and not change anything.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.

There is no such thing like a default password.
If you did not set a password then someone else did it.
To reset your workstation, unplug the power cord, locate the battery on the motherboard and take it out.
This will reset all BIOS settings to defaults.
Passwords (if set) get cleared, time/date and all other settings will be lost after that.

sorry, it's been a long time since I had the same issue with my used Z400 last year.
Now I remeber that resetting the CMOS does not clear the password.
BIOS options are stored in a volatile memory (CMOS), but password security uses a non-volatile flash memory.
Here is the solution:
Download the service manual from here
Start from chapter 8 on page 154 (Configuring password security and resetting CMOS).
Then go ahead to page 156 (Resetting the password jumper).
The password header/jumper is right beside the CMOS switch.
