I'm trying to upgrade my RAM and have the the card but there is not a slot to put it in. Do I replace one of the 2 cards that are already there? They seem to be identical except they are both 12-ZZ.
Pavilion Slimline s3407c.
Ever so grateful for any help, advice, guidance...I've been sitting here with the cpu tore apart for 4 hours now.

Hi:
Your PC's specs state you can install up to 4 GB of PC2-6400 memory modules in your machine.
Your PC's specs also state that it comes with 2 GB of memory installed.
Since both of your slots are filled, I would have to assume your PC came with 2 x 1 GB of memory = 2 GB.
What I would do if I were you, is to remove both of those chips and purchase 2 x 2 GB of PC2-6400 memory to install the maximum amount of memory that your PC can handle.
This is the memory you need for your PC: This package contains two - 2 GB chips.

Paul, thank you. I accept this as a solution but before I post it as solved I have one more confusion regarding the situation:
I used hp's application (? name) and allowed it to diagnose my machine of which it returned results that I needed to order the memory I described, and I did from the hp store as based on their recommendations.
I feel hoodliwinked on this one!

Hi:
You got me on that one. The only way that HP tool could report that you could install 1 GB of memory was if you had a 2 GB chip installed in one slot and a 1 GB chip installed in the other slot.
But if you never added memory and the HP specs state 2 GB is what the PC comes with then a 1 GB module was installed in each slot and I believe you confirmed that, correct?
Just for kicks, download and run the free Crucial memory scanner and see what that reports.
