I'm looking for an 8 GB kit for my computer, and it is DDR2 SDRAM 667 MHz. But I looked at the sticker of my old RAM chip, and it said PC2–5300U. The closest I could find on Amazon was almost the same thing except it was PC2–5300F. Will this specific chip work in the motherboard I have? Motherboard: MCP61PM. If this might be incorrect, my computer's name is HP Pavilion a6200n.

You will be glad you dropped by.

(1) The HP  Pavilion a6200n with the original Vista 32 bit OS does not support over 4GB of RAM.

(2) Memory config:  Supports only the use of  2GB DDR2 DIMMs.    Supports up to 8 GB on 64 bit PCs

Supports up to 4 GB* on 32 bit PCs, but the 32 bit PCs cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory.

BTW<>PC2-5300f is used in servers. It is buffered, parity. It would not fit into your system.

Well, I soon found out, that the AMD 64 Live! processor was an x64 based processor, and I was able to boot up all of my 64 bit operating systems from my laptop's hard drive just fine. So, answer this question again.
