I have a wireless network in my home and my desktop (HP TouchSmart 600-1350 Desktop PC) was connected to it and now it is not.
I have tried enable the wireless network (not found), I have disabled the ethernet connection (which there is no place to connect an ethernet to my desktop), and I have restarted my router and still nothing.
I have other comptuers and devices on this wifi network and they are all working fine.
How do I fix this?

Hello AngelecMarine,
Yes you can directly wire connect to your router. The connection plug in is on the back in the center on top row. You can all so reinstall the 802.11n Wireless LAN Driver. Go to search box in all programs list and type in recovery manger open it above when it list it. Select Hardware Drivers Reinstallation click next then go down the list and click on 802.11n Wireless LAN Driver. Then click next follow command promts. This will fix the corrupted files. If it does not display means your Wireless lan card needs replacing. You should see your router listed if you click on the those little bar step icon by your clock. Click on your router name in the list sellect connect in a nother window will display type in your pass word for the router.
On this page I can clearly see where routers phone line connects in picture 2 if you look above the little circle you will see a top row above the power cord the top row has the internet port.

My computer does not match the manual photos. It is definately a touchsmart 600-1350, but it does not have the panel shown in the manual photo you sent. I tried reinstalling the WLAN 802.11n and it still did not resolve the problem. The computer refuses to use wireless system. When I click on network adapters in device manager, there is a caution sign by microsoft TEREDO Tunneling adapter. It says I am unable to fix the tunnelling adapter without the internet. The computer does not have a place to replace the WLAN card if that is the issue.
How do I proceed?

Hello AngelicMarine:
You reinstalled the software and drivers for the 802.ll LAN wireless . It still does not work. Things as you know eventually burn out. This means your wireless card is bad. No they are not easy to replace. Where you able to locate the port for internet cable? If so then that's is all you can use untill you call HP Direct Support and have them replace the wireless card and service your computer for any upcomimng hardware failers. I would not trust a thrid party computer repair shop breaking down the computer. To much is envolved just getting to Lan module one mishap could damaged your motherboard or bazel screen. Yes you are out of warranty the HP Derect Support will give you a set price for the replacing the Lan module it comes with a 1 year waranty. This is the good part if your computer comes back with any kind damages to it. HP has to and will fix them free of charge.
My HP Touchsmart 600-1050 went in for a motherboard replacement the computer was returned to me damaged it had deep scratches in the bazzel screen and the touch screen was not working in sections so they had to replace it also the back support leg was cracked. They spent more money on this computer then what it is worth just in parts alone. Another poster is in the process of getting a new computer because HP Direct Support damaged it beyond repairs. Rember to always ask to speak to supper visors and do as little with phone tech operators . I am not allow to post HP's contacts here in forom moderators hate it. When call HP Direct support dial extension 79 ask to speak with the CTO, He will see to it that your computer is fixed.
These computers are nothing like the old computers were like. It's bad enough just replacing the Optical drive . Have you ever removed the back cover of your computer? The Lan module is at the bottom and the antenna for it is near the web-cam. That's a lot of layers to break down lots of tiny screws and parts to remove and put back not an easy task.

This is what my computer looks like. http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02497133.pdf. There is no place to attach an ethernet cord too. Please understand my frustration with this matter since I stated in my first post that there was no place to attach a cord and now three posts later and you are still asking me about attaching a cord to my computer. I know my way around computers and know what I am looking for.
I have already taken off the only panel that I can and I did not see where the new WLAN would go. My camera is not where you described. My camera is at the top of my computer. This is my only desktop computer in my house and I am trying everything I can to fix it before I have to loose everything that is on that desktop.
Do I need to still get a new WLAN card or does my picture of my computer change things?

Hello AngelicMarine:
Do you see your light switch? There is a small pannel that gust snaps off . Look where are those extra usb cable ports. It says LAN on top of five little boxes. That is your Internet wired port. Looks just like a phone jack but bigger. Your internet router cable goes there. I do not know what happen to my last post. It had the parts and cost on it.
On this page go to 10 it shows you the wireless lan card and how to remove it.
Least you know what it looks like and see whats all envolved resetting it or replacing it.
