Wireless mouse pointer is scrolling in a square

Everytime I change the batteries in my mouse, the pointer scrolls in a square.  I call HP and they help me fix it, but I can't find a phone number that will get me support, just directs me to the forum.  Please help!

Also, I have restarted computer, removed keyboard & mouse & restarted, ran the troubleshooting...nothing is working

Hello,

As I read you have an issue with your wirless mouse.

To resolve that issue first you have to go, Device manager,-->mice and other pointing devices--> right click and click uninstall the device.

Then you have to restart your system.
