HP Pavilion P7-1203
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have an HP Desktop (P7-1203) that has a XFX R770 installed.

Whenever the PC boots into Windows - there is a short time where all is good, then the screen goes black.

I've been troubleshooting steps from the video card site. I am being asked to flash the BIOS.

When I search this computer on HP's site, there are NO drivers available - and no BIOS info.

This PC was updated to Windows 10 from 8 - which isn't an option on the drivers page - although there is no drivers or downloads for 8 either...

Am I doing something wrong?
Any suggestions as to how I can make this video card work?

THanks 🙂

A

Hi,

The 300 watt OEM power supply is insufficient to power the AMD HD 7770.  XFX recommends a 550 watt power supply.

What BIOS level is your PC running?  The only posted BIOS update is under Windows 7 and it doesn't address your problem.

Once you have the correct wattage power supply installed in your PC then try clearing the CMOS if the new PSU doesn't solve the problem.

BTW-- Windows 8 drivers

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response 🙂

The power supply was upgraded to a 500W.

BIOS is CAR_716.ROM v7.16
