Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I am not entirely sure this is the correct board for this questions, but here goes.  For the better part of two weeks I have been trying to figure out the specs required for a system to edit 4k video (relatively short clips, 10 minutes most if that.  I've have been pushed and pulled in different directions by the Apple disciples and the Windows build your own warriors and  I'm no further along than when I started.  I just want to buy a system that can pretty much well accomplish the task.  I have been on custom build sites and I have no idea what I'm looking out in the options menus. I want to add that I will be primarily using Lightworks and GoPro Studio as my editing programs.  Davinci Resolve is far too resource intensive  I have always used HP PC's/laptops and want to stick with them.  To that end, I have narrowed my choices down to these two options and would like someone to let me know if either or both would be okay. The first for portability reasons and also because of the large screen is the HP Pavilion 17" ab202na 4k laptop listed on here for 1399.00 pounds.  It has the i7 7700HQ CPU, but only has the GTX 1050 Nvidia graphics card which I think may struggle in editing 4K.  The second choice is the HP Omen 870-275na Desktop listed on here at 1499.00 pounds and has the i7 7700 CPU with the Nvidia GTX 1070 graphics card. This I think would suffice, but would like an experts opinion. I know I could step up to the HP Omen 870-185na with the GTX 1080 card for 300 more, but I am trying to keep all this under 2000.00 pounds. I'm not expecting blistering fast render times, I just don't want any lagging whilst in the editing process.  For this second choice, I would like to couple it to the HP Envy 27s 27" 4k Ultra HD monitor, which I have read rave reviews about and it sounds pretty amazing.  Again, I am not sure this is the right place to pose this question, so I do sincerely apologize if it is not.  I would greatly appreciate your opinions, suggestions, and guidance in this matter and hopefully one of these will suit my needs as again I would like to stay in the HP family of products.  Thank you

@dkni, welcome to the forum.

I will have to admit that I am not too familiar with the needs for someone doing video editing, but I would definitely recommend one of the gaming laptops or desktops.  I have an Omen X desktop with approximately the same specs as the desktop for 1499.00 pounds.  It will run all of the games that I play at Ultra settings.  This is very powerful.  The GTX 1070 is very good.  I don't believe that you would see that much system performance increase with the GTX 1080 for the difference.
