I just installed a new PC tower that has 2 HDMI ports for my 2 monitors and now, my HP monitor has a blue tint to the screen. It worked fine before the new tower. I had been using windows 10 before and after so that can't be the reason. Why is the one monitor blue?

I've had a blue tint ever since I've installed my new tower. The display was fine until I installed my new HP Pavilion system, I've had this blue tint along with not being able to see red. All I'm able to see is yellow, purple shades, black, light blue, but no pink unless I fondle with the monitor settings. I am currently doing more research on this problem. My chord that conects to the monitor and tower has a bent pin and I'm seeing if I have to replace it in order to get the normal tinted display.

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
I understand that you are facing display quality issues with your HP Pavilion w1907 Monitor (let me know if you're using another model). I read that there is a bent pin in the display cable.
To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Is it a VGA or DVI cable. Have you tried switching from VGA or DVI and vice versa and checked?
You may perform a monitor self test and check if there is any such display quality issue:
- Let the display cable be disconnected.
- Power on the monitor and check if you see yellow, purple shades, black, light blue shades. If yes, then it is purely a monitor issue.
Otherwise, you may replace the display cable first and check because a bent pin can cause discoloration. If the issue persists then I suggest you to refer to the below steps:
The entire screen is discolored.
Figure : Incorrect colors
Figure : Correct colors
To fix incorrect colors, complete the following steps:
-
Check the video cable connections and make sure the connection is not loose. Tighten the connection screws if the connector is loose.
-
Press the Auto or Autoselect button on the display.
-
Press Menu, and select Factory Reset. If the screen is still discolored, continue to the next step.
-
If the display has more than one type of connection available such as VGA, DVI, or HDMI, try a different type of connection.
-
If possible, connect the display to another computer. If the colors are incorrect when the display is connected to the second computer, the display might be damaged or defective.
Hope this information helps. Let me know. Cheers! 🙂
