so i have been having issues with my desktop for about 9 months now. my connection to the internet cuts out about every minute for about 2 seconds. when i did a ping test it says general failure. i updated all my drivers and spoke with microsoft and my isp. after many times trying to identify the problem it comes down to hp support. i need to find out if the problem is with my nic card, and if so if i should replace the card, or just buy a new computer. any way to check to see if my hardware is working? anyone ever have this same problem?

Well, many users are having problems with PC's nic after the Windows 10 upgrades amd updates. Depending on various reasons, Realtek drivers are supposed to work with Windows 10, but still causing trouble. I myself am really frustrated with that on one of my upgraded PC's.
If you can get the latest driver from the Realtek site and it still is causing/having trouble, a new nic might solve the problem. However it seems to be a problem over many different manufacturers, so choose carefully.
I'm not an HP employee.
